Job Summary:

The IT Manager’s role is to supervise and ensure the efficient operation of the company’s network, client servers, databases, and equipment. The IT Manager will also work closely with IT Director and decision makers in other departments in order to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supervise IT department operational planning and projects, and organize and negotiate the allocation of IT resources with IT Director.
  • Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations as required.
  • Ensure the efficient utilization of IT resources – including personnel and equipment – across the organization.
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to network and systems operations for IT management.
  • Assist with development of maintenance plans & schedules for network and systems equipment.
  • Conduct system feasibility studies and testing as required.

  • Significant contributions to asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Assist IT management team with operations staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with IT Director.
  • Assist IT Director with overseeing operations-related projects and project portfolio.
  • Assist in the provisioning of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.

Position Requirements:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or computer engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years in IT support roles.
  • Experience in Architecture /Engineering industry preferred.
  • Certification in Microsoft technologies and ITIL are required.
  • Strong knowledge of advanced computer hardware, including Wintel, Apple, HP, Dell, IBM platforms.
  • Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Microsoft Windows 2000 and up.
  • Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Extensive application support experience with Microsoft & Autodesk products.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the VP, Interior Design, the Intermediate Interior Designer is responsible for prepare full sets of working and construction drawings.  This position requires an individual with strong technical skills.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare working drawings and assist with specifications for interior construction, space planning, materials, finishes, furniture, furnishings, fixtures, equipment and millwork; create sample boards; knowledgeable in the areas of building construction, building materials, specifications, codes, technical drawing and business practices
  • Working closely with a Senior Interior Designer and/or Senior Architect to formulate preliminary space plans and produce two- and three-dimensional design concepts that are functional, within budget and aesthetically pleasing
  • Understand the structural requirements of the plans, life safety issues, building codes and other technical aspects
  • Communicate with clients, consultants and contractors as directed by the Senior Designer
  • Understand and have working knowledge of materials and products that will be used to create and furnish the space and how texture, colour, lighting and other factors combine and interact to make a space
  • Collaborate with other consultants who offer professional services in the technical areas of mechanical, electrical and structural design as well as any specialty consultants as directed by Senior Designer
  • Administer contract documents, bids and negotiations as the client’s consultant as directed by Senior Designer
  • Prepare permit and tender documents
  • Carry out construction administration under supervision of Senior Designer
  • Understanding of project fee and client budget
  • Mentor and train junior designers

Other Responsibilities:

  • Provide back-up assistance to other members of the Interior Design group as well as the Architecture group

Position Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ experience as an Interior Designer

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Interior Design and/or Principal, Interior Design the Senior Interior Designer is responsible for overseeing the design process.  The Senior Designer also has supervisory responsibilities with respect to directing, training and mentoring intermediate and junior designers.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • With input from the Director and/or Principal, oversee the interior design process and deliverables, establish project direction and work within project budgets and schedules
  • Meet with clients to analyze their goals, needs and resources
  • Under minimal supervision manage multiple projects and a team of intermediate and junior designers; delegate and assign tasks appropriately
  • Understand the requirements of the plans, life safety issues, building codes and other technical aspects; knowledgeable in the areas of design, drawing and details, finishes and building materials, specifications, codes, technical drawing, contract administration and business practices
  • Prepare and administer construction documents consisting of plans, elevations, details and specifications, to illustrate non-structural and/or non-seismic partition layouts; power and communications locations reflected ceiling and lighting plans; materials, products and finishes; and furniture selection, specifications and layouts
  • Administer contract documents, bids and negotiations as the client’s consultant; coordinate and collaborate with other design professionals who may be retained to provide consulting services, including but not limited to architects, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers and various specialty consultants
  • Assist with permit tender applications as required
  • Complete construction administration from tender through project close out
  • Work to a project fee and client budget
  • Foster and cultivate good client relationships
  • Mentorand train intermediate and junior designers

Other Responsibilities:

Marketing Manager, Asia is a newly created management position accountable for all business development programs, marketing activities, external and internal communications and special events to support the building of the B+H brand and culture in Asia. This position works closely with the Global Director of Marketing in Toronto.

The Marketing Manager works with the Principals, Management and the Global Marketing team to provide strategic leadership to drive growth in Asia, strengthen the culture and accelerate the return on our firm-wide investment in the B+H brand. The role is central to the realization of our ambition to become a ‘Top Ten Global Design Firm’.  Offices of responsibility include Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore, with additional activity in India and the Middle East.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Business Development and Proposals

  • Work with Management and the Global Director of Marketing to establish business development, revenue and success targets and reporting mechanisms
  • Research market trends and industry developments in market sectors relevant to B+H
  • Monitor the competitive environment and recommend strategies and tactics to establish leadership positions in selected areas of practice and specific geographies
  • Identify opportunities for entering new markets and/or for launching new services or products
  • Network and participate in sector and industry events to identify project opportunities in Asia
  • Work with Principals and senior team to counsel on the preparation of proposals, RFP submissions and client presentations
  • Measure and report ongoing results for business development initiatives to the President, Asia and the Global Director of Marketing

Marketing and Public Relations

  • Identify public relations opportunities, create and issue press releases, act as a spokesperson for media inquires and manage B+H relationship with the press
  • Develop special corporate events and launches to showcase B+H and engage clients with firm services
  • Develop internal employee activities to strengthen the firm’s culture through team building initiatives that promote employee well-being and retention and support a design-driven and collaborative firm environment
  • Build brand recognition through external corporate, government and community relations
  • Responsible for the recruitment and management of BD and marketing team resources to ensure the optimum complement of staff to meet our objectives
  • Responsible for engaging external marketing consultants and accountable for their contributions
  • Regular reporting on marketing initiatives to the President, Asia and Global Director of Marketing

Position Requirements 

  • Undergraduate or graduate education with 7-10 years of marketing/digital marketing management and/or public relations experience
  • Experience in Professional Services, preferably in architecture, design or engineering
  • Demonstrated success conceiving and executing offline (via media, public relations and partnerships) and online (via social media marketing, blogs, etc.) marketing campaigns including: market research, analytics, and competitive positioning
