- District Education Conference Centre
The main focus of the project is the creation of one dedicated building to accommodate the School District's administration offices at a school board site abutting Green Timber Park. The Surrey School District has the largest enrolment in British Columbia and is one of the few districts in the province experiencing growth. The intention of this new facility is to help generate the identity of the School District through modern, environmentally aware architecture and thus reinforce its position within the community which has been long been overdue. These ideals should be revealed in a spatially uplifting and environmentally responsible building. The building is a community-based institution and will be around for the long term. The work is being phased in three stages, with the final phase being a conference centre that is likely to be funded through collaborative initiatives with appropriate partners in the foreseeable future.
