The Douglas Border Crossing is western Canada's busiest land border crossing, with one and a half million vehicles entering Canada here every year. As one of the most important gateways between Canada and the United States, this facility will be a major port of entry for travellers attending the Vancouver-Whistler 2010 Winter Olympics. The new Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) facility is targeted LEED®Gold, and will be completed in summer 2008. This landmark facility integrates modern sustainable design, emphasizing natural daylighting and ventilation, and also incorporates significant energy and water savings to reduce the impact on the environment.
